        Ayon sa kasabihang "dapat kang gumawa ng isang pagpipilian upang kumuha ng isang pagkakataon, o ang iyong buhay ay hindi magbabago."

    Pipiliin ko si Cyd bilang 'CHOICE' ko. Kilala ko siya simula  noong grade 6. Kahit hindi kami magka-contact, siya pa rin ang pipiliin ko. Ang dahilan niyan ay, mabait siyang tao, maalalahanin, mapagbigay, palabiro, matalino. I mean, sino ba naman ang ayaw makipagkaibigan sa kanya?

                Chance

        Kung may pagkakataon akong makipagkaibigan sa isang tao kahit sa maikling panahon lamang, si Louie ang pipiliin ko. Nakasama ko siya bilang parnter ko sa mga activities: lalo na tuwing English class. Despite na hindi pa kami nagkikita sa personal, ay masasabi kong isa siyang mahusay at magaling na tao. Siya ay thoughtful, open- minded, at siguro out-going. At maganda rin magkaroon ng kaibigan mula sa ibang bansa.

        Kung maaari kong baguhin ang isang tao, ito ay ang aking 9- taong gulang na pinsan, na si Luke. Maaari mong itanong kung "bakit siya?", ito ay dahil hindi ako naging role model sa kanya. Bilang isang nakatatandang pinsan, mahalagang maging mabuting huwaran para sa mga maliliit upang hindi sila madala sa maling landas. Lumalaki siyang na narinig niya kaming nagsasabi ng mga masamang salita at naging habit na niyon.  Naririnig ko siyang nagsasabi ng hindi mga magandang salita, sinisigawan ang kantang nanay. Sa tulong ng aking auntie, ang kanyang nanay, unti-unti siyang nagbabago at, natutuwa ako.

Grasshopper    

    Nature is ethereal, verdant and pristine yet others tend to forget about it, since that scenery is now blocked by tall and towering buildings. 

    For this activity, I decided that my subject is somewhat simple for a tepid person like me. When I was wandering along, I found myself gazing through these tiny creature namely, butterflies, dragonflies and whatnot;  my camera can't seem to focus on them since they're moving a lot. That's when I found this certain grasshopper with rich, dark skin.

    Its skin stands out more with all the greeneries around it. I applied the rule of third's when capturing this little dude. It is a good thing that the grasshopper didn't move as I snap some photos out of it. 

    As of the editing, I want to turn it to something warm but slightly dark at the same time . So what I did is I dropped the brightness to -21 then I elevate the contrast to 11, I raised the warmth to 21, and lastly to sharpen the photo I raised it to 13. 

And this is the end result.

Negative Effects of Online Classes

 

            Online schooling or online classes

    have much more negative 

    effects.

On December 31st, COVID- 19 has been a concern ever since the news spread globally. The news said that students have a 2 weeks break because of the sudden flare up of the virus and to let them handle the crisis, yet it was more than what they’ve said. After hearing the news that there will be a global pandemic, people start losing their jobs, markets getting out of stocks, and people got greedy. Ever since that day, the world hasn't been the same. When school’s about to begin, the method of online learning was a great help for students to continue their studies. It has been like this for two whole years. From two weeks to two years. Online classes have been helpful, nevertheless there are a bunch of negative effects on students to their educational learning. Moving on, in this day and age, numerous students still are in online classes. In this way of learning it will never be the same as face- to- face classes, where students and teachers face each other. The fact that technology is swiftly advancing it is true that it will be helpful but not all the time. Technology has some negative impact in our learning process. 

Online learning started in the midst of a pandemic. Though I have to say online classes are somewhat handy; such as this it is important for the sake of the students. After two years of being in online class, I’ve come to realize its disadvantages. Technologies are not always efficient.Nothing disrupts an online lesson more than audio, video, or connection issues.  Many times in the past, students were required to download and/or install cumbersome apps or technology that would deliver inconsistent performances. As someone like me that is not always techy, I find myself struggling sometimes when using technology and some other softwares that I’m not familiar with. 

 A major thing that has changed is the way students are being taught. It is difficult for students to grasp concepts of being taught. Unlike face- to- face classes, it is like a different world in online class. The learning environment has made it difficult for students to be able to connect with their teachers. When working online it is much harder to show your teachers exactly what you are struggling to learn.

Online Learning can cause social isolation, and can cause students to not develop needed communication skills. A significant increase in the time spent in front of a computer screen during online education can also contribute to these feelings of loneliness and undermine students' mental and physical health. Teens tend to feel lonely, unmotivated, or discouraged without regular social interaction. Numerous studies have shown social isolation can cause higher rates of negative outcomes for the mental and physical health of individuals.

There are advantages and disadvantages of online learning for higher education. But as technological capabilities have reached new heights and many of the major concerns of students taking online classes have been addressed, the disadvantages of online learning are beginning to drown out the advantages.

 

While technology has become increasingly more popular in classrooms, there is a concern that students are relying too heavily on technology. 

PAGPAPAKATAO o PAGIGING TAO

                Pagpapakatao o pagiging tao? Alin ba ang pipiliin mo?

            Para sa'kin ang pipiliin ko ay ang pagiging Pagpapakatao. Bakit?

           Para aking opinyon, mas simple lang at madali lang para sa'kin kasi  Ang

katangian ng tao o ang karakter nito ay impluwensya ng mga kanyang kapaligiran, mga        magulang, mga nakagawian at/o isa itong natural na pagka-sino ng isang tao, at ito'y            nangyari na o mangyayari pa sa aking buhay. May kakayahan akong maglinay sa aking sarili, kakayahang mag-alay sa aking sarili sa mundo, magbigay kahulugan at pag-unawa sa mga umiiral na kaganapan sa paligid, Kakayahang magbigay ng awa at pag-ibig, Kung ang ikinikilos ng tao ay para sa mas ikabubuti ng kanyang konsiyensiya't paligid, ito ay pagiging isang ganap na taong makatao.

            Katulad ngayon nagagawa kong pagnilayan ang aking mga kilos at iniisip, sa hinaharap o sa nakaraan. Nabanggit ko na na ito ay madali at simple ngunit maaari itong maging hamon sa ibang mga punto. Kadalasan kailangan kong kilalanin ang aking sarili at maingat na pumili ng mga desisyon sa buhay, kahit na ito ay maliit o isang mahalagang desisyon.

LIFELINE

            Marami sa'tin ay may na isipan na mga ambisyon para sa ating kinabukasan o dapat kong sabihin, halos tayong lahat. Mayroon tayong mga malikhain at magagandang ideya, kung ano ang maaari nating gawin sa ating mundo at baguhin ito para sa mas mahusay. 

Ipakito ka sa inyo ang aking LIFELINE na nasa ibabaw ng teksto.

Paano mo Mabubuo ang iyong Misyon sa Buhay

            Sa kasabihang ito ng edad ko ngayon ko lang napagtanto tatlong taon mula ngayon magiging college student na ako. Hindi ko na pinag-iisipan ng seryoso ang bagay na'to dahil sinasamantala ko iyon, na malayo pa ang oras na iyon. Ngayong malapit nang matapos ang school year ng ako ay nasa ika-siyam na baitang, ito ang panahon kung saan kailangan ko talagang magplano ng aking kinabukasan at mga layunin ko.

            Bilang isang mag-aaral na kasalukuyang nag-aaral na naghahanda para sa mga pagsusulit at mga gawain, sisikapin ko ang aking makakaya upang hindi lamang makapasa sa aking mga pagsusulit kundi makakuha ng perpektong marka. Pangalawa, gusto kong mag-invest ng pera para sa kolehiyo at sanayin ang sarili ko na maging isang independente na babae. Sa tingin ko, sa wakas, ipahayag ang aking mga pangunahing layunin. Maaari mong itanong kung bakit ko sinabi 'sa tingin ko' ito'y dahil baka marami pang mga plano na maaari kong gawin valang araw.

            Lahat ng bagay na isinasaalang-alang, ito ay mahalaga upang magplano nang maaga. Huwag kailanman mag-aksaya ng oras o kahit na magpaliban, hindi mo maibabalik ang oras. Dahil ang napapansin ko, mabilis na umuusad ang panahon.

OPEN LETTER

 

           To our future President,

            Magandang araw sa hinaharap na Presidente.

Nais kong sabihin ang ilan sa aking mga kahilingan sa pamamagitan ng pagsulat sa iyo ng liham na'to.

Sa ngayon ay baka alam mo na ang kalagayan ng ating bansa, ngunit gusto ko rin matugunan nag problema ang iba’t -ibang sector ng lipunan lalo na sa mga magsasaka. Ang mga magsasaka na nagtatrabaho para sa ating bansa ay magagaling at masisipag na mga tao ngunit, ngayon ay tumatanda na sila kailangan natin ng mas maraming kabataan upang tulungan silang magtanim at mag-ani ng mga pananim. Ang mga bukirin na kanilang ginagamit, nagiging mga sementadong kalsada at hindi sapat na lugar upang sila ay magtanim. 

Bagama't sila ay talagang nagsusumikap para sa ating bansa ay wala silang angkop na kita. Napakahusay nilang tao ngunit hindi kinikilala ng maraming tao. Isinulat ko ang liham na ito upang maituro ko ang problema natin lalo na ang isang ito.

AUSTRALIAN RABBIT FENCE

 

 

                            Stretching from north to south across Western Australia, dividing the entire continent into two unequal parts, is a flimsy barbed-wire fence that runs for a total length of 3,256 km, the Australian Rabbit Fence. 

                            The fence was erected in the early 1900's to keep wild rabbits out of farm lands on the western side of the continent. Today, the Rabbit Proof fence, now called the State Barrier Fence, stands as a barrier to entry against all invasive species such as dingoes, kangaroos and emus, which damage crops, as well as wild dogs which attack livestock. 

                         Well this fence, it acts as a boundary separating native vegetation from farmland. Within the fence area, scientists have observed a strange phenomenon: above the native vegetation, the sky is rich in rain-producing clouds. 

 

                         Rabbit-Proof Fence stirred up a lot of controversy in Australia, due to its portrayal of the Stolen Generations. This term relates to the Torres Strait Islander and Australian Aboriginal children removed from their homes by Australian Federal and State government agencies, as well as church missions.

 

                                About me, my idea in MENDING WALLS or BUILDING BRIDGES, is that I am that kind of person who wants to build bridges, I want to build relationship and learn about others, but somehow I just can't get out of my comfort zone. As for me, I identify myself as an introvert I barely talk to anyone besides the ones who are close to me and the ones that I comfortably talk to. But whenever I try, the atmosphere turns awkward and I can't find the words that I want to say to that certain person, to that I ended up backing out. I badly want to improve my communication and be part with others.
